Thanks to everyone who provided thoughtful feedback about the BBC recommendation. You raised valid concerns about editorial bias and the vulnerabilities created by government funding. I've removed the BBC from the International Perspective section and added Rest of World, a nonprofit tech newsroom that covers regions typically underrepresented in Western media (Africa, Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Eastern Europe). Rest of World has transparent nonprofit funding with no government ties and 90% of their articles are reported by journalists on the ground in the regions they cover.

This is exactly the kind of input that makes this resource stronger. Keep the suggestions coming, and thank you for sharing the transparent, accountable sources you rely on!

I’m a medical librarian and would caution against using PubMed for consumer health information. Peer review alone isn’t a guarantee of quality, and many predatory publishers have managed to have their journals indexed in PubMed. Even medical professionals can find it difficult to assess the quality of journal articles, we actively teach them how to do this, so it’s unrealistic to expect consumers to do the same. It’s also very challenging to interpret research findings and apply them appropriately to your own health situation.
